Description

In this premium video, Outdoor Photography Guide’s David Johnston demonstrates how to use Lightroom’s color mixer tool. Using his image of a white heron in a mountain pond, David first makes basic adjustments, clarity, contrast, whites, blacks, vibrance, and saturation, all this to enhance the colors. Enter the color mixer. With the eyedropper tool, he positions the color swatch and selects the sand color of the rocks. This allows him to make adjustments on only that sand color through hue, color range, saturation and luminance. He does not need dodging and burning.

David proceeds to do multiple color swatch selections and works with the color mixer sliders on each one – blue of the pond, gold on the bird’s face. He points out that you can also use the mask tool to isolate one part of the photo for editing.
