Description

In this premium video, Outdoor Photography Guide’s David Johnston, gives you tips for editing your wildlife photography. He works on his image of a white heron at early sunrise. Cropping the photo, he draws more attention to the bird in the pond.

In Lightroom, David works the various sliders, including contrast, shadows, clarity and vibrance, which adds depth. Under Hue, Saturation and Luminance, he adjusts the individual colors. This editing sequence enhances the golden color of the early morning sun and the blue shadows on the white heron.

David shot the image at ISO 640, so he reduces noise with the Denoise slider. He sharpens the image and removes chromatic aberration to eliminate the false edges. He creates a vignette to darken outer parts and draw attention to the bird. Zoning in on the bird’s face, he increases Clarity, Exposure, Highlights and Contrast.
