When To Haze and When Not to Haze
David JohnstonDescription
In Lightroom, David works on his hazy image of autumn trees. By increasing the highlights and decreasing the shadows. then repeating this edit with whites and blacks, he creates separation in the color tones. Choosing to amplify the haze for a dreamy effect, he decreases the clarity, and increases vibrance. With the masking tool, he brushes red on his entire photo. Next, he decreases DeHaze, which increases haze and fog.
For another image, wide shot of colorful trees in sunlight and shadow, he decides to decrease the haze. With various slider tools, he increases the contrast between highlights and shadows. To enhance the colors, he increases the vibrance and saturation. With the color dropper, he repeats the process with each color. Then, he increases the DeHaze slider for more contrast.
