Water Photography Gear
Ian PlantDescription
Professional photographer Ian Plant shows you what you need to take with you to get great water photos while keeping your equipment and yourself safe. He recommends bringing two filters in particular – a neutral density filter to block some of the light that gets into the lens, and a polarizing filter to eliminate some of the reflection and glare on the water. He shows you examples of the effects achieved with these filters.
He also recommends you bring along what is called a dry bag. It’s a sealable rubber bag you put your gear in to protect it if it gets dropped into the water for a short time. He also offers tips on protecting your tripod from the disintegrating effects of salt water, and recommends what gear you should wear for different types of water photography.
