How to Capture Reflections in Water Photography
Ian PlantDescription
Light reflecting on water, whether it’s during sunrise, sunset, full sunlight, or moonlight, has long been a favorite subject of photographers. Sometimes the reflections in water photography is a subject all by itself.
Reflections in Water Photography
Professional photographer Ian Plant shows you how to zoom in on the water’s surface and just shoot the light reflected there. He also shows you how to include other elements in the composition that are reflected by the light on the surface of the water. Often these other elements are what is at the water’s edge, such as trees, marsh grasses, or wading birds. Sometimes the subject matter reflected in the water is clouds. The light at sunrise or sunset adds color to the clouds, which also adds color to the water, resulting in a more interesting photograph.
