When I think about the reasons that I got into photography, it's pretty simple. I wanted to be out there. I wanted to be capturing moments. I wanted to be able to share those moments with other people and there's so many different ways of being creative. And I think on of the most special ways is to be able to go out and find something normal and make it something special.
And there is a number of ways that we can do that. We change our perspective, we add strobes with ambient light, we try different focal lengths and wide angle and telephoto. All of these things combined with our subject matter, being in the right place at the right time, doing your homework, finding out where to be and what time to be there. All of these elements combine to make a very creative medium something extraordinary. And the more we do it, the better we get at it like playing an instrument.
And it's rewarding on so many levels. I think the think to do is ... There's an old saying "F8 and be there." Just get out and shoot and create and be creative. Find new ways to approach your subject matter. It's just never ending rewards.
