Just past sunrise, Steve sets up his camera on a 1500-foot cliff. With a 20 mm lens, he frames the flowing river, the beach below, and the lip of the cliff. He makes an exposure without a filter, then adds a graduated neutral density filter for dramatic lighting and colors. To capture a single iconic image, Steve also demonstrates that shooting many exposures is the best approach.
