    Description

You are ready for a photography trip. What should you do to get ready? In this premium video, Outdoor Photography Guide’s David Johnston suggests 5 essential preparations.

    1. Your go-to camera and a backup camera. Depending your destinations, you should also choose the lenses you might need for any situation.

    2. Organization. That includes enough SD cards, batteries and a battery charger in your camera bag. David carries five batteries in his bag.

    3. Tripod setup. If you carry two different camera bodies, you might need two lightweight tripods, the second for videos.

    4. Daily weather forecast. Check the forecast for each day of your planned trip. Keep a weather app on your smartphone, and include a photography planning app like photopills.

    5. Clothing. Prepare your clothing for the weather forecast. David suggests layering to account for cold conditions.
